I just received one of the first black multicam Xiphos Elite holsters off the line at Tier 1 through their Early Access program. You know how I feel about black multicam. Not to mention, I think it looks pretty sweet sprinkled on some sugar cookies and comfy as heck to wear also.
This holster feels high-end in typical Tier 1 fashion. There’s not a sharp edge anywhere to be found. The kydex is thick, expertly molded, and has so far fit multiple 43x slides without issues. The belt clips are one of my favorite, offering good retention and easy adjustments.
This isn’t a holster for every situation though. It’s a little big to use as an appendix rig on a full size carry gun, since it has extra material to accommodate the extended belt clip. I think this holster is ideal for the compact carry gun footprint, affording the flexibility to quickly switch between appendix and 3 o’clock carry and that’s why I like it. When I’m on the road, in and out of the car a lot, this holster can run comfortably on my side and be moved to appendix when I’m on my feet.
If you want a flexible holster for your compact carry, this is perfect. However, if you want a dedicated appendix rig or you’re carrying a full size 1911 or Staccato, this will be a compromise and there’s better options for that.
