This slide is a work of art. They’re black nitride coated slides and smooth as glass. Aesthetically, it’s just “chef’s kiss” drop dead sexy, if you ask me. The front chunk port is a departure from our other 43x test subjects so it seems like the perfect chance to throw something different and unique into the mix.
First thing I did was reach out to them by calling their dealer number because I’m rude and impatient but, I was kindly greeted by Patch (Patrick), one of the founders of ARC Division. He was nice enough to answer my questions and didn’t even ask me why I was calling his dealer line. Patch also replied to my emails. All this while he was on vacation in Texas. I had a good feeling and placed my order promptly.
Assembly
Everything went smoothly. I assembled the slide using an OEM slide parts kit that I ordered from Glock Store, by recommendation from Patch. I moved my Holosun EPS Carry from the ZP slide and it fit like a glove, a nice change of pace. If I had to nitpick anything about this slide/barrel combo, the barrel rifiling ends before the port which I thought wasn’t ideal but Patch explained in a email that it’s by design to prevent bullet spalling as it exits the barrel. No flying shrapnel is a good thing in my book. We’ll see how/if that effects our testing in a later write-up!
Testing: Day 1
It ran perfectly. I put about 200 rounds through it and there were no issues cycling from the first round to the last. I’m withholding specifics for our final head-to-head comparison review. Check back for that and follow us on social media for updates.
