I’d like to introduce you to our latest test subject. I had been wondering for a while now… what would it take to make this little guy shoot like my Glock 19 does with it’s Radian Weapons Afterburner+Ramjet micro compensator? Is it possible? Can it be done while still maintaining it’s micro size for concealability? And why is there so little information available about modifying the 43x?

That’s what we’re going to figure out. Before we look at compensators that extend the overall length, I want to see if we can keep this as small as possible and turn it into a flat-shooting micro carry to compete against my cheat-code enabled Glock 19.
First stop, ported barrels and slides. I’ll be choosing 3 of the most popular ported options on the market and test them head to head. By the end of this, we should be able to answer what style of ports work best, which company does it best, and how much (if any) difference there is in felt recoil/muzzle rise. I’ll also let you know if we run into any issues along the way and what to look out for if you choose to pursue any of these options.
Follow along to keep up to date on this build series.
